World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four tournament victories – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of Dominance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the whole season as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Statistics

Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a historic £11m in tournament winnings.

She earned almost 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a greater prominence".

• Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking extended hiatus after the arrival of her first child and returning to the sport at the start of this year.
• Rookie of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko picked up the award after beginning the season positioned outside the world's top 300 and climbing to the eighteenth spot.
• Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after securing their second Grand Slam title as a pair.
• Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after reaching five championship matches.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz secured three awards in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third consecutive time.
