Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.
Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.
The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Highly Successful Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
