Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world offered condolences for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
